My portfolio
Below is a small portion of the jewelry I designed throughout the last 5-6 years of designing and producing beaded art, as well as some information on the jewelry and process.
I wanted to share a Little bit about my work so that you can have a bit more knowledge of what its all about and my intentions behind the project.
For starters, I have been beading for at least 7 years, which gives me a fair bit of experience and makes me feel confident in providing good quality, reliable beaded work. Often, making jewelry has been an outlet for me during times of struggle. This relationship with it has made me shift the practice so that when i'm working, i'm practicing being in a sort of meditative state. First imagining the FEELING of what i'm making and then starting to bring it to life. One step at a time from choosing my needle, to the string color and length, what design i'll do, each beads place in the pattern, right down to where each knot is tied at the end securing every bead, the entire journey is all part of an intuitive process and I absolutely love to watch it all happen. The completion of each piece is a surprise to me, like slowly uncovering a fossil buried deep in the earth. You yourself did not make the fossil, that was all the universe. However, you were the one with the correct skills to discover its beauty. Similarly I feel the universe dreams up an idea of something it wants to create and whispers it to me as the physical form of co-creator so I may allow it to become manifest.
I am a perfectionist and I strive to create a vision of classy, unique, bold, and reliable. I use gold plated hoops and hooks, brass triangle frames and most importantly the smallest most expensive kinds of beads, Miyuki Delica 11/10. I use these primarily for two main reasons, the first being it allows space for more intricate patterns. The second reason is that because they are so consistent in size they have a more satisfying, perfect finish than traditional glass beads. The shape of the beads also helps me to make sure that I can tie plenty of knots and I'll always have enough space to hide them away without breaking the jewelry! This preference costs a little more but it saves me so much time and effort in the long run that I wouldn't have it any other way!
NOTE
If you have purchased any arose products and take good care of your jewelry and still a string comes undone or the piece starts to fall apart I insist you contact me to work out a replacement option based on your situation! ALSO earrings with longer strands of beads will become wrinkled if not hung straight. This can be fixed! dip them in water, lay them on a flat surface, straighten out all the strands with your fingers, then leave them to dry. They should go back to looking brand new! :)
